I was in the ER to get my ear cleaned up. I had almost fully lost the sense of hearing in one of my ears due to wax impaction. I am a hygienic individual so this situation was very embarrassing to me. However, nurse Julie's constant attitude of acceptance and empathy towards my feelings was admirable. She caringly said wax impaction was normal and that it happens to many. It made me feel okay and not disgusted by it. It took a long time to completely clean out my ear but nurse Julie was patient and encouraging throughout. She did an exceptional job. Her care and communication made a huge impact on me. And I want her to know that.
